Neibum is a chill out album.
I could imagine that a couple of his tracks are selected for the famous
Cafe Del Mar compilations. Opening with the first track called Nobody,
Luis sets the relaxing tones with guest vocalist Kiva.
Track two is called
Transporta and is a short one and it is more an interlude to the next
track. Track three is called Hey Girl and has some sampled and rebuild
wave sounds in it. A guitar and a minimal breakbeat make the whole
picture perfect again. The next track is called Luminus and again it has
a minimal and slow breakbeat. Every time I hear this track, I must think
of Unfinished Sympathy from well known Massive Attack. Same feeling but
without the vocals. Track five is called In Your Eyes and when this one
gets a full release on vinyl with some remixes that have a bit more
power I will buy it. Still this version is very useful as a intro to one
of my sets.
Atmosphere is a perfect name
for track six. Its name covers the load. Perfect atmospheric sounds that
will sound fabulous this summer in Ibiza when sun sets.
Track seven is called
Question and is not one of my favourites. Condicion Urbana is the eight
one on this cd and tracks are getting a bit fatter on production.
Heavier beats but still minimal. The rest of all the sounds are more on
the front so the cd is building up in a way.
Track nine is without a beat
and is more an interlude again in my opinion. Track ten is called
Simetrico and is in a way again a bit like Massive Attack but with not
the darkness. All these tracks are more brighter that the darker
productions of Massive Attack.
At track number eleven I can
see Dj Bruno from Cafe Del Mar or Jose Padilla thinking of the next
Compilation. The tracks are getting a bit slower again.
Twelve, we almost come to
the end of this cd. The track is called Retrospectiva and is in a way a
retrospective of the cd, but also a retrospective of past ambient and
lounge, trip hop and other laidback genres. I can even hear some Art of
Noise, Vangelis, Mike Oldfield and Pink Floyd influences. Last track is
number thirteen and is called Das Ende. Again, Art Of Noise is the first
thing I have to think and for the rest, Youll have to find out for
yourself.
